The mountainous wave towers overhead
Allowing no escape,
Confining me to ponder fate.
So vile this world is,
Leaving hope to wither in the dark,
So deep my sorrow is; where should I start?
At times hope is abundant
Yet out of my reach,
At times I am a student
Yet I’m forced to teach
To those who can’t see
That life involves more than we think,
And to those that don’t believe
Life can be lost in one blink.
Appreciation is a lost art
Trapped inside our mind’s archives,
Leaving us helpless as this feeling subsides.
We lust over material things
Forgetting the beauty within our hearts,
And due to this epidemic we are now torn apart.
Like a war torn country
We treat each other as enemies,
Like an unforgiving sandstorm
We erase happiness from our memories.
Is there a cure?
Can we move this menacing monster?
Are we so sure
That we can truly divide and conquer?
Iniquity corrupts our minds
When given a shred of power,
It’s deemed pleasurable watching others cower.
For centuries this has commenced
Creating the future’s corruption,
And yet so simply beaten is justice’s obstruction.
Can one man open eyes
Blinded for thousands of years?
Can one man cry
Three-fold as many tears?
Well my being is soaked,
Sprouting from the depths of my sorrow,
Leaving me to pray for a better tomorrow.
