Beautiful Misery

By H. Blair Woisard

Oh beautiful misery
Oh surreal truth
I won't look though your eyes
I will, in stead, seek truth.

Oh echoing whisper
Oh stifled scream
I won't hear through your ears
I will hear through the fears.

Oh happy sorrow
Oh masked grin
I won't hide your way
I will survive - sink or swim.

I won't let you hide me.
I won't run in fear.
I will step up to the challenge -
for I know I will persevere.

I won't ignore passion.
I won't ignore lust
For they, too, are on the palate and I life's brush.

I won't let shadow overcome me
I won't let lies win
I know of the sunshine and what shines within.

Uncovered and naked
Deny not what I am
I look for brighter futures
In He who is "I Am".

Great is knowledge that is not held in
For to hide such beauty must be a sin
Such powers within you - agree or not - life is within you
A gift, the whole lot.

I will look to the sunrise
I will look to the moon
I will look on the inside
And I will look to you…

Hand and hand now, and forever we stand - linked one another…
All starting with God's hands.
See it as I, or see it another, I will give my love without charge and stand as your cover.

I won't let you hide me.
I won't run in fear.
I will step up to the challenge -
for I know I will persevere.

I end with thanks, my only able gift,
for good and for bad which through I am lifted
To where I go now, I do not know -
but follow I will until it is time I finally become still…
