The Journey

The journey has been painful
Due to my stubbornness and greed
For I would not let go
Of the things I did not need

When God said "Turn right"
I often turned left
When God said, "Go forward and look ahead"
I often looked behind me instead

For the journey has been painful
But it did not need to be
If I had only listened to God
Instead of listening to me

The journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honor.
