About Polis Polis: a community center (Greek marketplace); a place where a community dialogue occurs; perhaps a sacred ground; Central Virginia Community College's Literary Journal Polis accepts submissions of
poetry, fiction, nonfiction (including academic essays), and artwork by
CVCC students twice a year. CVCC students submit three copies of their
work (no name attached-that information is provided on a cover sheet), and
at least three Polis Board Members review each work using criteria
established by the board. When submissions receive contradictory ratings,
at least one additional board member reviews the work in question. To view
