Sleepless
H. Blair TinsleySleep escapes my wilting mind
as time flies by which I can’t rewind.
I hear your heart beat for it beats in mine.
How I wish I could turn back time.Another day has passed me by
slower than the last and still I cry.
What will it take to end that day -
the day that life took you away?Where is the laughter I once knew?
What is the joy – I guess it’s through.
No more sunshine – no more rain – all that’s left are tears and pain.
The scars I carry are my only gain. What will it take to end that day
when fate took my life away?I hold onto the memories so they can never fade
and I am the shell of the person those memories made.Sleep escapes my wilting mind
as time flies by which I can’t rewind.
I hear your heart beat for it beats in mine.
Oh, how I wish I could turn back time
