A Song For Sarah

Even though I’ve never met you,
you’ve touched my heart. It’s certainly true.
I’ve seen the pictures of your sweet little face.
I see what you’re going through and would gladly take your place.
Even though you’ve been on this Earth
for only a short while,
you’ve touched so many lives, so many hearts.
And knowing that you will not be here
with us much longer just tears my heart and
soul apart.
So many people only think of their own pain
and not that of others.
I can only imagine the pain you’ve felt…
Yours, your father’s and
your mother’s.
I was always brought up and taught
to never question the acts of the Lord above.
But, I just can’t understand why he’s taking
away from us such a sweet, little bundle
of love.
Why would he take someone so young,
so innocent from the human race?
My only comfort with all of this
is knowing that you will be in a
better place.
No longer will you cry your tears of pain
or suffer any more harm.
You will finally be at peace,
cradled in the Lord’s
tender arms.
You will be in Heaven above,
watching over us with your angelic wings.
You will be smiling down at us
as we cry for our loss as the church
