What I Need is You
Chad GlassSometimes, I just miss the bliss of ignorance.
I try to keep myself convinced of innocence.
But my mind keeps up the implement of selfishness.
What self is this?Once held in the midst,
of a pure Holiness.
Do I keep missing out on the rights to righteousness?
Will I ever find out or even know the difference?Whats going on with this?
I'm done with it!
Tired of the consequence,
I cant take the sound of it.I'm through.
Even though I can't take my eyes off You,
It's completely and impossibly true,
Jesus, what I need is You.Reaching for something I know I'll never get,
Doesn't stop a person that you've made become an addict.
In an all out panic, got to get the new fix.
God I'm crying out to get a brand new You fix.Feel like banging my head against a few bricks,
Just to stop the feeling of not getting through this.
Feel like I failed You, feel just like a Judas,
Bet You anything, while You were on the Cross, You knew this.Your blood dripping down,
was really grace pouring out,
A new way, a new page,
a new stage begins now.Jew and gentile become one, and set free,
Released the Holy spirit to give life to all of these,
Gave Your purity back to a people of harlotry,
To the searching, to the hungry, to the broken like me.
